DECEMBER 18, 2025, MANILA, PHILIPPINES – The biggest Filipino hip hop artist Al James comes out with his newest track featuring Because. “2G” is a welcome addition to his growing collection of hip hop hits. This is his second single in 2025, and the first one featuring Because which makes the release extra special. Having Al James take his signature style front and center in this track, it adopts a familiar sound that fans love. The addition of Because softens the deep and gritty music to bring his own flavor to “2G”. Both artists flow seamlessly through the tune produced by Fern creating a future banger.

In line with the release of the new track featuring Because, Al James explores a holistic approach to “2G” as a medium to celebrate his community, passion, and growing artistic expression. This approach was in full force in the official “2G” Music Video launch party on December 18, 2025 inside Baked Studios.

The launch party officially released the “2G” Music Video of Al James featuring Because, bringing together fans, artists, friends, media, and brand partners for an immersive night of music, visuals, and culture. The overall experience of the “2G” Music Video party was in collaboration with creative director Simon Te — creating a precedent in how hip hop artists could express and release tracks and music videos that encompass sound, visuals, and physical experiences.

The night started with music from DJ JADABASS while guests came in, setting the atmosphere for the music video premiere, live performances, and the party. As the venue started to fill up, the anticipation also heightened. Al James’ team made sure the wait was worth it through designing and setting up activities around the venue:

By around 9:30pm, the much anticipated music video of “2G” is exclusively premiered for the first time. Guests were treated with first access to see the black-and-white masterpiece by director Gian Mawo — a metaphysical visualization of Al James’ zeal and artistry in “2G”.

As soon as the music video ends, the stage lights up and unveils the set by Because where he performed a few of his own tracks. Right after, while guests like Flow G, Fern., ALLMO$T Music, Hellmerry, OSM, and more were coming in, the live band started to set-up for a surprise set. When everything settled, Al James came out and performed his hits Pahinga and Pa-Umaga to name a few. And to close his set, Because comes up on stage for the first live performance of “2G” — a performance to remember as it set a precedent of what’s more to come from both Al James and his label, Lock’d In. By the end of the live performance, DJ FATROACH sweeps in to close out the party. 

While the track officially launched on Spotify by 12mn of December 19, the official music video was released on December 20, 2025, giving Al James’ fans an opportunity to enjoy the creative vision he has for “2G”.
