NBA Trade Analysis: Last Week’s Biggest Moves

One NBA trade after the next had us shook over the last seven days.

Here’s a rundown of the most impactful trades that went down over the past week.

1. Jimmy Butler to the Golden State Warriors

Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler is heading to the Golden State Warriors in a blockbuster move that sent Andrew Wiggins to South Beach. This trade boosts the Warriors with Butler’s elite scoring and lockdown defense, providing them with a veteran to complement their already loaded roster. Can Jimmy Buckets and Chef Curry be too much offense to deal with? We’ll find out.

2. Khris Middleton Joins the Washington Wizards

The Milwaukee Bucks have traded veteran forward Khris Middleton to the Washington Wizards, sending Kyle Kuzma to Milwaukee to join the duo of Dame and Giannis. This deal gives the Wizards a much-needed experienced player to solidify their roster and help guide their younger stars. The Wizards also acquired Marcus Smart, giving them a defensive veteran in their backcourt.

3. Luka Dončić and Anthony Davis Swap

This was, hand down, the most unexpected trade of the season. It practically broke the Internet, along with the hearts of Mavs fans the world over. The Los Angeles Lakers acquired the 25-year-old superstar Luka Dončić from the Dallas Mavericks in exchange for Laker champ Anthony Davis, along with Max Christie and a 2029 first-round pick. With that, Davis adds much-needed inside presence to a team rich in offense thanks to Kyrie Irving and Klay Thompson. Dončić, on the other hand, joins Lebron James in Lakerland after what is being called one of the most surprising trades in NBA history.

4. Brandon Ingram Heads to the Toronto Raptors

In a big move for both teams, Brandon Ingram is joining the Toronto Raptors from the New Orleans Pelicans. The Raptors are getting an all-star caliber forward who can take over games with his scoring, helping them push for a deeper playoff run.

5. Fox joins Spurs, LaVine joins Kings

In a significant three-team trade, the Sacramento Kings sent De’Aaron Fox to the San Antonio Spurs and acquired Zach LaVine from the Chicago Bulls. By acquiring Fox, the Spurs add a dynamic point guard to pair with rising star Victor Wembanyama, enhancing their backcourt depth. Meanwhile, the Kings bolstered their roster with LaVine’s scoring prowess and secured valuable draft assets, positioning themselves for future success.

To wrap it up…

These trades are shaking up the NBA landscape as teams look to improve their chances of making a playoff push. Whether you’re a die-hard fan or a casual viewer, these moves are sure to have a major impact on the rest of the season.
