The Social Sports Club crowns first Tennis Doubles Tournament champs

The Social Sports Club brought the serves, smashes, and community vibes at their Social #1: Tennis Doubles Tournament.

In an era of third spaces, run clubs, and day-time coffee parties, it’s clear that people are looking to get out, workout, and connect. And that’s the idea behind The Social Sports Club.

“The goal is to build a bigger community of likeminded individuals who enjoy different sports like tennis, pickleball and more sports to come,” shared Miguel Manalang, Founder of The Social Sports Club.

“We believe in the power of sport to bring people together,” he added. “We are not just all about competition, but also being able to socialize with your opponents.”

For their Social #1, they organized a Doubles Tennis Tournament at the Vista Real Classica Tennis Court in Quezon City. This tournament served as the ideal platform for those who wanted to test their tennis progress in a competitive but welcoming environment.

“[Social #1] was a success because of 3 main reasons,” shared Manalang. “One, we were able to connect different tennis groups around Quezon City. Two, one of our goals during the tournament was to have an organized schedule of matches and we were able to finish on time. Third, just seeing the smiles of the participants and hearing good feedback all throughout the day made it all worth it.”
